My name is Emily Wiegert, I have been a lifelong athlete in many different sports. My current passion is competing as an amateur in disc golf. Though, I hope to turn pro in the next year. My first experience with FCA was in college back in Wisconsin, where I met Aaron Rodgers. I have not had much experience with FCA since then, God lead me on a very interesting journey. I enlisted in the Army and found Chaplaincy through my experience there. After I returned from a deployment, I knew I needed to pursue going to Seminary and chaplaincy. I served in the Colorado Army National Guard as a chaplain candidate until I incurred a career ending injury. After that I pivoted and pursued chaplaincy in the hospital setting until this past May when God connected me with Scott and the rest of the Northern Colorado FCA team. I knew instantly that this was where God wanted me to be. To be working in a ministry capacity centered around coaches and athletes is a dream come true for me. To top it off, I am blessed to be joining an incredible team here in Northern Colorado. Everyone has been so welcoming and has so much experience they are ready and willing to help as I navigate this new area of ministry. I am excited to see where God will continue to lead me as I step into my role in the Loveland area and as a member of this team. I look forward to all the connections and relationships I will have the opportunity to build with Coaches and Athletes.
My first encounter with FCA was at Severance Middle School where I spent three years teaching 8th grade science. During my time at SMS, I was the host teacher for the FCA Huddle. It was an incredible time watching 6th-8th graders spend their Friday mornings seeking the Lord together. In 2022, I felt the desire and need to step back from teaching. I sensed the Lord tell me that he had plans for me, but that I needed to be faithful and trust in Him first. I resigned from teaching, unaware of where I would be in the fall of 2022 and feeling unsettled because despite leaving teaching, I still had a heart for students and that they would come to know Christ. Little did I know that the Lord had spent the previous three years preparing the way for me to come on staff with FCA serving the community that I taught in. It is my prayer that the influences and disciplines imparted on these athletes include the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As the Windsor and Severance Area Representative, I will continue to engage the relationships I built while teaching. I will get to build new relationships with athletes and coaches, equipping and empowering them to grow in relationship with Christ as they set out to do the same for others.
Sierra grew up in Grand Island, NE and played volleyball, basketball and track growing up, before starting her collegiate volleyball career and graduating from South Dakota State University in 2019. After coming to know Christ at Covenant Cedars Bible Camp, Sierra found her identity in Christ rather than in her sport and grew in her faith through FCA more than she ever thought possible starting her sophomore year of college. Sierra was involved with the FCA leadership team and summer internship program at SDSU. The Lord blessed Sierra with great people to surround herself with in South Dakota and now He has brought her to Loveland to share His love and the joy she has found in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Sierra enjoys spending her free time hiking, running, reading, and being with people she loves. Sierra is most excited to further God's Kingdom in her favorite place in the world!
My name is Quint Firestone and I am currently getting to serve in the Loveland area with High school and Middle school huddles. God is transforming the lives of coaches and athletes with the powerful combination of sports and the Gospel. Your financial support helps me engage, equip and empower the coaches and athletes in Northern Colorado. Thank you for partnering with me in this work. May He richly bless you.
